Dubai
Dubai: city defying nature; city defying description; city defying itself. Dubai is maybe unlike nearly any other city in the world, or even I daresay the world's history. It is both a city with a history grown organic through time and peoples and a city wrought within the forges of modern industry and capital expense beyond measure. Dubai occurred when there is an almost fearless ferocity to creating a new life order for a country coupled with, without exaggeration, trillions of dollars. If we were start from scratch every time to send Man to the Moon, we could do this on the order of ten times before getting into the league (but not eclipsing) the monies spent on building Dubai up and out of the sand dunes it is has displaced.
