San Francisco Peninsula

When I had thought of San Francisco Peninsula I once thought it filled with concrete and steel and people and pavement and rubber and all those things that come with a large metropolitan city. But it is almost effortless to discover a different country merely by hugging the coast as you leave the Presidio taking Highway 1. One moment you are in suburbia, the next you are nestled along tight curves and steep drop-offs, driving through towns with populations counted on three digits.
